Höroldt created his chinoiserie according to his European idea of the Middle Kingdom. Its imaginative implementation knows a lot of love for detailon. The famous onion pattern also has its origins in Asia. It was developed on the model of East Asian decors and shows chrysanthemums and lotus. The onion pattern is also presented in the typical cobalt blue on the "Noble Chinese" coffee cup and saucer.
